About Life Groups
Purpose:To establish authentic, Christ-centered relationships, as well as encourage one another to become extraordinary followers of Jesus Christ through meeting together and studying the Word
Guidelines:
We will be honest and open in sharing about our journey in becoming Christ followers
We will come to each meeting prepared to share with one another
We will listen and learn from each other’s sharing
We will support one another, not attempt to fix one another (only providing advice if asked)
We will keep conversations confidential, what is shared in the group stays in the group (unless someone’s life is at stake or we are obligated to share with others)
What does a typical Life Group look like?
Life Groups are typically made up of 6 plus people who meet regularly to share about their lives, support each other, pray for each other and study biblical truths. Life Groups usually meet in a home, but some may meet in alternate locations such as at the church building.
Why join a Life Group?
Life Groups provide an opportunity to learn and practice biblical truths, through studying and discussing the previous week’s sermon. Each Sunday everyone will receive the sermon notes along with the corresponding Life Group study/discussion questions for that week. Not only will you establish Christ-centered relationships through this process, but you'll be able to meet with other people to learn from their experience and spiritual journey.
How Long Do They Last?
Each Life Group session lasts 9 to 11 weeks. At the end of each session you will have the choice of staying in the same group, trying a new group or even taking a break. Most groups stay together throughout the entire year. Life Groups do not meet mid-June through August.
What is the Required Commitment?
Joining a Life Group requires a commitment to attend weekly meetings and do the study/discussion questions ahead of time. Obviously, allowances are made for sickness, vacation, work conflicts and other special events. This commitment is the key to a strong Life Group. During the first three weeks you will have the opportunity to attend a group to make sure it's a good fit.
